Ear infection affecting ear temperature? can an ear infection affect ear thermometer readings?

Yes: I believe it can. When an eardrum is red and inflamed it generates heat so to me it has always made sense that the ear infected side might have a higher ear temp than the other side. I do not like ear thermometers. I like the digital ones tat beep. For me they are more accurate.
