what are the solutions to an irregular heart beat? what causes the heart to skip and what is the cure?

The : The answer to your question depends on the type of irregular heart beat. The sensation of a skipped heart beat is most commonly caused by premature ventricular contractions (pvcs) or premature atrial contractions (pacs). Neither of these conditions are dangerous, but in some circumstances they can be associated with other heart conditions. A sustained irregular heart beat lasting hours or longer is usually atrial fibrillation, a common arrhythmia with several potential complications. I would recommend that you talk with your doctor if you are having this symptom, because the first step is an accurate diagnosis. Depending on what is found, you may need nothing done but you may benefit from treatment.

Irregular Heart Beat: There are many causes. If you are symptomatic it can be treated with medications. If it is refractory then ablation is a choice.

What does it mean when I have an irregular heart beat during rem?

Exciting Dream State: Rem or rapid eye movement sleep is when most dreaming occurs. It is a lighter sleep allowing you to be more aware of your body sensations and your dreams. If you have an exciting experience in your dream your body responds by producing more adrenalin. This may cause an irregular heart beat or an awareness of your heart beating leading to palpitations.

I don't have a irregular heart beat but it feels like it skips a beat?

This is quite common: Many people feel having skipped or extra beats here and there. If it is once in awhile and you have no symptoms such as dizziness, chest pain, shortnes of breath, leg swelling etc...I would not worry too much. If you have symptoms, then consult your doc. The heart is amazing! it works 24/7, 7days/wk, 365d/year.Never takes a vaccation. When it does, u r in trouble. So, stay healthy. Good luck.

Is an irregular heart beat always atrial fib?

No: The term irregular isn't really a specific medical term. It's used to help us describe certain rhythms. There are benign irregular rhythms like "sinus arrhythmia." the term atrial fibrillation tells us a lot more than a rhythm being described as irregular.

I don't have a irregular heart beat but I feel like it skips a beat here and there. I'm 23?

I'm sure it does: Everyone's heart skips beats. Unless you pay attention, you won't feel the vast majority. Normal hearts beat 60, 000 to 100, 000 times a day. Some of those are "mis-fires". Caffeine, fatigue, stress, nicotine all increase this number. Skipped beats do not mean you have heart disease.
