How do dog bites heal?

Healing dog bites: Dog bites are dirty, therefore infection is a problem. Dog bites should be cleaned, debrided and depending on the area of the body left open or loosely stitched. It they are stitched they should be watched closely and if there is any signs of infection the wound should be opened. After a few days when the chance of infection is passed they will heal like any other wound.

Naturally: Assuming no infection they heal as any othr wound of the same are. Commonly they are not surgically repaired or are very loosely closed because of concern for creating a closed space infection or abcess.
