Many possibilities: Without seeing the foot, it is difficult to determine what might be causing your pain. It is also important to know if there is swelling or redness or increased warmth in the foot. The pain could be from a deep callous or a stress fracture or gout as some possibilities. You should see a podiatrist to be evaluated if it persists.
