Can you tear your mcl during a squat lift accident?

Yes: The mcl is tighter in flexion than in extension so you could sprain or tear it doing squats.

Yes: The mcl is the most commonly injured knee ligament. Any load applied to the outside of the knee can injure the mcl. The severity if the sprain determines the treatment.
