Depends: The treatment of leg ulcers depend on the type ie venous ulcer or arterial ulcers. Arterial ulcers are treated by improving the leg/ ulcer perfusion through angioplasty or vascular bypass. Venous ulcer are treated by reducing the venous congestion this can be achieved by saphenous venous closure in the case of venous insufficiency or simple unna boot strapping.

Leg ulcers: the answer this question depends upon the underlying source for the ulcerations. Evaluation of the circulatory system is crucial, to include arterial flow, and vein flow. Ulcerations occur secondary to an underlying problem, and the treatment protocol requires treatment of this underlying problem for successful outcomes. I would seek evaluation by a vascular surgeon.
