What kind of training do genetic counselors get before they can see patients?

Extensive training: For a comprehensive answer go to web sites for the american board of genetic counseling and the national society of genetic counselors. Counselors may qualify to seek board certification after an m.S. Degree. The board certifies individuals and accredits training programs. Rns may specialize in genetic counseling. Many but not all states license genetic counselors.
