One cycle: Since most home urine pregnancy tests detect the HCG at levels above 25-30, and HCG levels are approximately 100 at the time of expected menses, a home test can usually detect a pregnancy 1-2 days before expected menses. Blood tests are more sensitive detecting HCG levels above 5. Rec gyn if abnormal cycle persists and preg test remains negative.

Usually 4 -5 days: Usually check at 4-5 days beyond your usual menstrual cycle length.
