Yes: Yes, it can skip a generation. You may want to have a genetic test and/or see a genetic counselor if you are concerned about possibly developing huntington's.

Autosomal Dominance!: Technically, no that would be impossible. You must have a parent who had hd to inherit it yourself & later express the disease. The risk is 50% to a child of an affected individual. The only way it could "skip a generation" is if the affected parent were to die before expressing the disease, but silently passing it on to an offspring. Also (please no offense!) non-paternity could lead to this.
