Many possibilities: Sudden mood changes can happen for many reasons, including rapid-cycling bipolar disorder, general irritability, depression, pms/pmdd, etc. There are personality disorders that are prone to this as well. To get a better idea of your own situation, you could start by seeing your primary care physician for an evaluation. S/he may also want you to see a psychiatrist and/or therapist as well.
