Stomach rest 1st: If everything else with him is normal, allow his stomach to rest. Nothing by mouth for at least a few hours to allow his gut to settle/calm down. When ready, allow only a small sip of a fluid (1 teaspoon) or a sliver of an ice chip to see if he can tolerate this challenge. Later, you can offer a tad bit more, but be patient and methodical. If he continues to vomit or look worse-see your doctor.

Lots of liquids: He needs lots of liquids to keep him from getting dehydrated. Start with 1teaspoon of liquid every 5 min. If he can't tolerate that, he needs to go to the emergency department for rehydration.
