Back pain: Generally no. Extreme injury neurologically can cause muscular dysfunction but would be obvious. Gas is generally produced by bacteria acting on in digested or partially digested food stuffs. The treatment for back pain including opioid pain medication could alter bowel function with constipation and flatulence.
