Is it normal to use cortisone injections for rotator cuff injuries?

Very: Most rotator cuff injuries involve inflammation of the rotator cuff and bursa. These problems are effectively treated with oral and injectable steroids. Physical therapy is an effective adjunct to treatment. See a board certified orthopaedic surgeon for evaluation and treatment.

Just 1 or 2 Please: There is some concern that too many injections with a symptomatic rotator cuff tear may accelerate progression in the size of a tear so we only recommend 1 or 2 injections. Learn more here: http://www.Theshouldercenter.Com/rotator-cuff-tear.Htm.

Rotator cuff: I would agree that rotator cuff injuries involve inflammation of the rotator cuff and bursa. These problems can be effectively treated with oral and injectable steroids. Physical therapy is an effective adjunct to treatment. However, if the injury represents a tear...A cortisone injection will not fix this. It may provide some temporary relief however. See your doc.
