What does downtime mean with regards to skin resurfacing or laser treatment?

Patient dependent: Downtime means the time you will be away from work or your normal routine. With good wound care you can return to work the next day. Depending on the extent or depth of the resurfacing procedure it may take up to 2 weeks to completely epithelialize (heal) and redness may persist for put to 4-6 weeks. In even the most aggressive treatments , camouflage makeup can usually be applied by 2 weeks.
