A member asked:

How long should the pain last after a molar extraction?

Really varies: After a simple extraction, the answer is not very long at all. If complex surgery or complications were involved it could be days. If the pain seems to be getting worse several days after the extraction, it could be a dry socket which will require additional treatment.

Less and less: It is not unusual to have discomfort for a few days after an extraction. The severity should decrease. If the pain lingers or increases, or if there is any unusual swelling, see the dentist who did the extraction.
