Fx healing 6 weeks: Fractures will heal in about 6 weeks, if stabilized. Where there is motion, one could develop an non-union site with a possible pseudojoint. Ribs are difficult due to inability to splint, but will become asymptomatic with time. If untreated, fractures can take months and continue to cause pain. Calcitonin can facilitate healing and reduction of pain. Adequate calcium and vit d is also recommended.
