A member asked:

What causes boils around the virgina?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Poss. hidradenitis: You should see your doctor for an evaluation when you have an outbreak, but boils or abscesses can occur in any sweat or oil gland on the body. The area around the vaginal opening has many of these glands, and anyone can develop an inflamed follicle occasionally. Severe, large, or recurrent boils can be found in a skin condition known as hidradenitis suppurativa.
