A member asked:

What causes boil on the upper part of the virgina?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginal "boil": A "boil" is a common term for an abscess. Some cysts can also look like a "boil", and result from a mucus secreting gland on the vaginal "lips" which enlarges if the exit duct is blocked. If this area is painful and inflamed, see your gyn provider for an exam. If not, this will usually dissipate on its own, especially with hot showers or baths.
