Not life threatening: Very difficult to associate any symptoms with pectus excavatum, although some claim shortness of breath on exertion, no change is noted in their breathing capacity after repair. Despite that, repair is justified for the cosmetic appearance alone. Recommend evaluation for repair (johns hopkins has minimally invasive repair i think) and seperate evaluation for palpitations.
