Maintains blood flow: Br is an operation in which excess breast and skin is removed, while keeping the blood and nerve supply to the nipple-areolar complex. Ideally it should preserve a woman's ability to lactate, erogenous sensation, while decreasing musculoskeletal strain, intertrigo (skin rash) and improving her aesthetic results. It is an outpatient op, conducted under general anesthesia.

Removal Tissue: Variety of techniques exist but essentially comes down to removal of excess breast, adipose tissue, and skin. Important to preserve enough tissue to maintain blood flow to nipple/areola complexes and surrounding tissues. This operation also serves to raise the position of the breasts on the chest wall. It tends to be a very patient pleasing operation.

In general, I prefer: In general, I prefer to perform the procedure under IV anesthesia, instead of General Anesthesia, because it eliminates much of the nausea in the post operative period. During the procedure, excess skin and breast tissue is removed. The nipple is left attached to remaining breast tissue and moved to a new position to match the new, smaller breast size. Be sure to consult with a board certified PS.
