Nerve pinching: Numbness is usually caused by a problem with nerves. Nerves can be temporarily irritated by pressure, such as could occur when carrying heavy bags. Finger numbness can occur either from irritation of the nerves in the fingers, or in the wrist, or even in the neck. If your symptoms persist, see a doctor.
