See your doctor: This is one of those problems where a visit to your doctor is necessary to figure out what's going on. Only after a thorough evaluation, including examination and possibly labs and other tests, can your doctor correctly diagnose you and treat you effectively.

Think back: Do you remember a bad injury? Sometimes something simple such as bumping a tooth on a soda bottle can cause a suttle reaction that takes years to develop into an infection that may eventually require extraction. If you have ever had any mouth trauma at any time in the past, that may have been where things started.
