Crusty eyes: There are a number of possible causes for crusty eyes. If due to viral conjunctivitis (commonly called pink eye) or an allergy, cold compresses and artificial tears will help. If due to blepharitis, an inflammation of the eyelids, warm compresses are instead indicated. Lastly a bacterial infection will require antibiotics. The best way to determine the cause and proper treatment is an eye exam.
