For the foot...: You may have had some sort of injury which caused the bruise. If there was some damage to a joint or tendon sheath, this could have led to the formation of a ganglion cyst. This would explain the lump and the pain, but there are many other things that may have happened as well. See a podiatrist for further diagnosis and treatment.
