Pathophysiology of it fractures?

Intertrochanteric?: Usually an elderly patient falls with direct or slight torque to the thin, susceptible bone just below the femoral neck & above the femoral shaft. Sometimes tumors or areas of weakness make individual more prone to fracture. Needs surgery.

Varies: A number of mechanisms can lead to a fracture, but ultimately the force applied must overcome the mechanical strength of the bone.
