A member asked:

I got a yeast infection after surgery. my doctor gave me anti-fungal cream for my vagina and butt. how close to those areas can i apply the ointment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't worry.: If the infection is on the mucous membranes (i.e. "inside"), you can apply it to all of those areas, because those creams are designed to be applied there. If the rash is on regular skin surrounding the vagina & anus, you can go right up to the vaginal & anal openings, but not inside, which might cause irritation and itching.
