Nerve is misfiring: The nerves control the muscles, and sometimes one of the nerve fibers gets sensitive and keeps sending signals to the muscle to contract. Since it is only a small part, the whole muscle doesn't do much, but just gets twitchy. This can happen more often when you are under stress, not eating right, or getting enough sleep. There is medication that can help if it doesn't stop.
