Excellent: If you don't smoke, take your medications...Aspirin or plavix, (clopidogrel) statin etc....And follow up with your surgeon for periodic surveillance of the bypass, your success rate should be excellent. Expect some swelling of your leg for a while, that's normal and will resolve for the most part with time. Good luck and don't smoke!

Very young: Cause of blockage? Cyst trauma medial deterioration aneurysm smoking/ diabetes? Nevertheless, venous femoral popliteal bypass is a good operation with 50-70'% five year patency. Higher if one counts repeat fixes!
