A member asked:

I have always has irregular periods but sometimes they are 2-4 months apart.why is this happening? is it normal? is it because of my weight? (100)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not normal: Never normal to miss periods. Most likely cause in young healthy lady is hormonal dysfunction. Not only weight, but cause of weight can have an affect. Unhealthy, high sugar diet cause hormone problems (and obesity). Malnutrition and excessive exercise also causes hormonal dysfunction and underweight.
