Last week i discovered what i thought was a bruise on my tongue, however on close examination this is a hard immobile pea size lump looks like a bruise?

Possibilities : It may be a bruise or a result of an injury (bite fibroma), but best to have it checked by your primary care doctor, who may refer you to an oral surgeon or ENT doctor.

Probably a hematoma: You probably bit or injured it someway to cause a hematoma or 'blood blister'. If it does not resolve in 2 weeks, see a dentist, oral surgeon , or physician
