A member asked:

Does multiple sclerosis cause heart arrhythmias?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Not usually: Ms originates in the brain and affects skeletal muscles, causing the person to loose voluntary control of them. It can also affect vision, causing optic neuritis and sometimes blindness, double vision or other visual problems. It can also cause cognitive problems and dementia. However, it doesn't typically affect the heart directly.

No, but see below: Ms on its own does not affect the heart, but some of the medicines now used to control the disease may transiently cause changes in heart rhythm. Check with your neurologist regarding management of abnormal heart rhythms if these are present.
