Don't pop blisters: Blisters are fluid-filled collections under the skin. More importantly, they're sterile until they're popped. So leave them alone so that the new skin underneath can stay sterile and minimize risk of infection. Forming a blister after cryotherapy is normal - just leave it alone and let your body absorb the fluid. Keep it covered to minimize risk of rupturing it. Look out for redness, pain & pus.

My preference: With a patient who has diabetes is too err o the side of caution. Hence, i would warn them of this possibility of occurring and ask them to return if it occurs. I saw one doctor respond not to drain the blister and i guess there are different ways to skin a cat. My preference is to drain the fluid, but i prefer to be the one doing it if the patient has diabetes.
