Actinic: If your actinic keratosis has returned, you should discuss this with your dermatologist-- some of the lesions may now be cancerous and should be checked before another round of medication.

Check with physician: You should check with your physician to see if the Carac is still the correct choice for you. Other effective creams include efudex, Aldara and picato (ingenol mebutate). Also actinic keratoses are usually treated with these creams in the fall or winter when sun exposure is reduced. Once clear, it is important to use a sensitive skin spf30 sunscreen everyday to prevent recurrence.

See your doctor: See the doctor that prescribed the Carac and let them see if they appear as actinic keratoses, or something else. It can be used more than once, if needed.
