Time with feet up: Fluid retention in the feet is a normal response to the womb sitting on the veins of the pelvis & creating back pressure that lets fluid leak out into the tissues of the legs & feet. If she spends more time with the feet elevated, some of this pressure is off & some swelling may subside. It is hard to avoid this natural event in pregnancy.
