Post procedure: This is a procedure whereby a dentist will surgically remove some tissue from around a tooth that has a compromised or too short remaining tooth structure. Thi procedure provides more structure for a crown/cap to fit on.

seperate procedures: A post is used to hold the filling material that is used as a core to support the crown. Crown lemgthening is when gun tissue and sometimes bone is removed to gain more tooth structure for a crown to be bonded or cemented onto the tooth.
