Stay active: The compression stocking is for edema control. Activity is best way to prevent further clots from forming. Once your doctor releases you, stay active. A superficial clot does not need blood thinners but does need topical therapies and anti-inflammatories.

Not dangerous: Superficial blood clots in the legs are not dangerous, but may be uncomfortable. Normal activity is advised. Staying in bed or otherwise limiting your activity may make you susceptible to more clots. Make sure your doctor follows your progress as this condition heals.
