Support: Flat feet stretch the planar fascia and inflame the foot. An arch support keeps the inflammation down. Get measured for a proper support as each foot is different. When your feet are hurting try 2 ibuprofens and 2 tylenols (acetaminophen) every 6 hrs.

Get a diagnosis...: The most common reason for flatfoot is a posterior tibial tendon/ligamentous problem. However, other reasons such as arthritis in the midfoot can give you a flatfoot as well. Before an orthotic or other nonoperative treatment is prescribed i recommend finding out exactly what is causing your condition. See an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon.
