Cast or surgery: Most of the time the fracture heal by applying a cast for 6-8 weeks , if the fracture displaced or in certain location( we know those will heal by casting) is better to go right away to surgery and bone graft.

It depends...: Scaphoid fractures are treated differently depending on the location of the fracture, time out from the initial injury, and the patients needs. This ranges from splints, to casts, to surgery.
