A member asked:

What does abnormal rapid eye blinking/twitching indicate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually stress: Twitches of the eyelids are a very common symptom. The most common cause is stress, often in association with sleep deprivation and other factors such as caffeine intake. There are also some neurological conditions that can cause eyelid twitching. Excessive blinking can also be caused by a condition called blepharospasm. If your symptoms persist or worsen, discuss them with your doctor.
