If a 2 year old fell and seemed to black out very briefly and you chose not to have a ct scan, how long until you feel like she is "out of the woods?"

See below: If your child is acting normally, and had a normal exam, there is no reason to do a ct scan. Ct scans are over used. After 24 hours of observation, there is no longer any concern.

Careful: Not out of the woods until the child had undergone an evaluation by a physician. Head trauma sometimes can have lasting side-effects for years, e.g. Chronic headaches or even seizures. Time isn't the only factor to take into consideration. After concussion, close observation especially important first few days but ongoing observation for a few weeks to months is typical. http://goo.gl/dc5vz.
