Balanced diet: A balanced diet of carbohydrates, protein and fats are necessary. Carbohydrates consisting of complex sugars are good for diabetics as they digest slowly and provide constant source of energy. Also the y are rich in fiber. Low fat and low cholesterol and low salt diet also helps a long way. Much detailed description of the diets you can eat along with recipes are given in ada website.
