A member asked:

What is hypoxia and what does it mean if my doctor said i have a slight case of it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypoxia: Hypoxia means lower levels of blood oxygen compared to normal values. It could be caused by by diminished absorption of oxugen in the lungs (asthma, pneumonia, drowning, etc) or obstruction of blood flow in the arteries (arteriosclerosis, embolism, thrombosis) or in the veins (congestive heart failure, embolism, thrombosis, etc).
