I just had a cervical biopsy and am having mild cramping is this normal? how long will this last?

It depends/ONE week.: This likely depends on the extent of the biopsy itself. A cone biopsy, for example, takes a lot of tissue. It also may be important if you were having your period at the time of your biopsy. Both these issues could help explain your cramping. It should last about one week at the most. If it lasts longer, see your doctor to be sure there is nothing else going on.

Can be normal: It is normal to have some cramping after a cervical biopsy. Try taking some tylenol (acetaminophen) and ibuprofen.

Cervical dysplasia: Normal to have menstrual-like cramps after a biopsy. Depending on your allergies and tolerance, either tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin should help. It should not last more than a few days.
