Trust mom : You may have an ingrown hair or blocked gland. If you are sexually active it may be associated with something else. Do not be afraid to talk to your mom- I am sure she is very open to helping you. However, if you are- your doctor or a community health provider will be able to help you.

Trust doctor and mom: If you're worried about confiding in a family member, doctor-patient confidentiality protects your information, so you should have this checked and relieve your concerns! it could be a cyst, ingrown hair, blocked gland, or several other causes. At 18, you don't need parental consent for examination or even surgery if needed, and your medical information is protected, even under parent insurance!
