A member asked:

Is spinal osteoarthritis reversible?

8 doctors weighed in across 3 answers

No: Spinal arthritis represents a mechanical and anatomic change with new bone growth ( osteophytes) that can impinge on excisting nerve and muscle causing pain and limited motion. While symptoms may improve with medications and physical therapy the actual anatomic changes do not.

Usually no: Its a normal part of aging however if you are a high level athlete you may have higher incidence of this as you age. You may want to consider stem cell therapy. Consider checking out Regenex.Com.

Generally the answer is no, although regenerative medicine has promise to reduce the causative inflammation and allow tissue repair (with improved function and reduced pain).
