No connection: If you ask a doctor "is it possible" the answer will almost always be yes. A better question is "is it likely" so in this case: "because I have asthma I am more likely to develop scleroderma with or without arthritis?" no, there is no association between asthma and scleroderma, with or without arthritis.

Be thorough: While scleroderma primarily affects the skin, breathing problems may result from scarring in the lungs and can include: dry cough, shortness of breath, and wheezing. While asthma is not more common in patients with scleroderma, patients with scleroderma can have symptoms that can seem like asthma.
