A member asked:

What is the recovery time before i can bend down again after a spinal fusion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This varies as to : The type of fusion done, number of levels involved as well as the type of instrumentation ( if any) that was used. In general, assuming normal healing ( not smoking, not a diabetic, not a revision surgery, not hypothyroid or malnourished) usually after several months but always ideally one can immediately get down by bending at the knees and hips rather than at the waist which is the right way.
