Aspirin: The benefits of Aspirin for primary prevention should be balanced against potential risks of bleeding particularly in older patients with greater risk for bleeding in that age group. Provided such risk is thought acceptable, the protective anti platelet effects of Aspirin might make it a particularly good option in the elderly as the vascular risk is inherenttly higher in this age group.
