Loose teeth: Normally there is a space between the teeth and gums called the sulcus which is normally 1-3mm in depth. As gingivitis progresses the pocket gets deeper. As the pocket gets deeper there is bone loss. That is the first sign. X-rays will also show bone loss. As the disease progresses, the teeth eventually get loose due to the lack of bone support.

Very few: Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums. The symptoms are red swollen, bleeding gums. When bone loss occurs you have periodontitis or in other words periodontal disease.
