Rib pain: The rib cage does not often become painful and swollen, unless there was some direct injury to the area (rib fracture/contusion) or some indirect sprain/strain to the muscle/ligament structures (costochondritis...). There can be soft tissue masses (and rarely bony) that can present with such symptoms, so please get evaluated.
